I was commissioned to develop a strategy for the Labour Party — to talk about what it would need to do to become a credible opposition party. What did I say? Focus on basics. Edge out the extremes. And: get serious about the concerns of women. Two out of three ain’t bad. Let’s see if they’ll listen more to the third issue now that Nicola Sturgeon hit the rails on the same one. (Warned them about that, too, but: never mind.)
